Through Oceanum Datamesh, we maintain continuously evolving global, regional and local metocean hindcasts. Each month, the system ingests and propagates the latest datasets, including ERA5 atmospheric reanalysis, GLORYS ocean currents, and ST6 wave physics, to generate wave spectra across the entire suite of ocean domains.
This monthly update cycle ensures that every variable—waves, winds, currents, and sea surface temperature—reflects the most recent assimilated observations available worldwide. The result is a dynamic, validated dataset that evolves with the ocean itself.
The new Datamesh ingestion architecture ensures a consistent and efficient integration of all global datasets into a single analytical framework. Within this environment, oceanic variables can be statistically analysed directly, without the need for additional coding or data pre-processing.
Users can compute time series, probability distributions, and spectral statistics for waves, currents, or sea-surface temperature at any location worldwide. The analyses are based on the most recent monthly data at the native grid resolutions of 0.5 deg global down to sub 500 m locally.
Each update guarantees consistency, accuracy, and immediacy — transforming the historical reanalyses into a living dataset for design, modelling, and decision-making in coastal, offshore, and climate applications.
