Users can define a Datamesh query by selecting the dataset, variables, location, time range and output format, then generate a link for that exact request.
This URL can be opened directly in a browser to download the data, shared with registered users within an organisation, or integrated into tools such as Power BI, Excel/Power Query, Python, R, MATLAB or GIS workflows.
Available formats include CSV, Excel, netCDF, GeoJSON, GeoTIFF, Parquet and more, depending on the dataset and query.
This is useful for two key reasons:
- Repeatability: instead of rebuilding the same query manually, users can reuse a consistent request. For evolving datasets, relative time ranges allow the query to follow the latest available data.
- Collaboration: teams can work from the same query, reducing ambiguity and making it easier to share data selections, reproduce requests and integrate results into existing workflows.
Try it yourself with the DEMO datasets. Create an Oceanum account, explore the available demo data and generate your first query link.
