Calibrating a wave hindcast against observations is normally a project in itself: assembling collocations, fitting a correction, validating it, then applying it across the full record. We’ve built that entire workflow into one app.
Pick a point anywhere in the Oceanum hindcast, at global or regional scale. The app gathers the matching altimeter collocations (Ribal and Young, 2019), applies the calibration method you select, and shows the before-and-after verification — scatter and Q-Q plots, time series, distributions, bias, RMSD, scatter index and R² — before you download anything.
What makes this matter is what sits underneath: full 2D frequency–direction spectra, hourly, spanning more than 45 years, across several thousand output points. The calibrated or raw spectra download in a couple of minutes, in the format of your choice.
For anyone forcing nearshore models, running design studies, or building operational tools from spectral boundaries, that turns a multi-hour task into a few minutes.
